Hoop Revolution in Brooklyn!

Brooklyn Lyceum, site of Hoop Revolution hoop dance workshop

Brooklyn Lyceum

Terribly excited to attend my first Hoop Revolution workshop at the Brooklyn Lyceum this week, led by the renowned Anah Reichenbach.  She is considered the godmother of modern hoop dance and I believe she was also the teacher of my first teachers.  Filled with anticipation, I saw this sunny display when I emerged from the subway into the depths of Brooklyn.  Promising.  Inside, lots of hoopers were already spinning their stuff…

TWIRL Level 1 Classes Start Soon

Hi hoopers, for those of you who included feeling stronger and more beautiful in the new year, we have good news.  Our first beginner class series is starting next Mon., 1/17.  Our Level 1 series includes three classes in a semi-private workshop format.  You will learn to hoop on the waist, hips, arms and move the hoop on and off the body.  Try it, you’ll love it!

Welcome to TWIRL Hoop Dance!

Why have Vogue, Time, MTV and “Good Morning America” featured this former childhood pastime as an engaging new way to wiggle your way to a better body?

Hoop dance is old school hula-hooping taken to a new level of dance, fitness and fun. Today’s hoopers use large, weighted hoops to perform special exercises or “tricks” while toning the abs, arms, legs, thighs, back and butt.

Celebrities like Beyonce, Marisa Tomei and First Lady Michelle Obama have all found themselves in the hoop, as have regular folks around the world from Tokyo to the Netherlands!

Our friendly, low-key classes welcome hoopers of all levels. We love to help beginners get started. We offer great intro packages that include hoops and free instruction. We hoop outside whenever we can and look forward to seeing you in class!
